Steve is a nationally certified pistol instructor since 1993 (that’s 30+ years!). Over those years Steve has adapted to the teaching methods it has changed. He knows so much more about physics and biomechanics today than in years passed. Guns and ammunition have changed, too, and Steve takes pride in keeping up with the latest teaching techniques, and in making his teaching relevant to the students.

He believes that a student will learn better if they understand the “why” behind what they are being taught. When teaching, he explains everything using understandable language, and makes sure each piece builds on what came before it.

Steve volunteers with a Venture Crews (part of Scouts) and enjoys teaching shooting and firearms safety to youth.

He teaches all levels of shooters, but he especially enjoys working with beginners and intermediate shooters because he can make a more significant improvement in their performance in a shorter amount of time. He teaches both group classes and 1–2-person private lessons.
